About the Role: . . This role requires a skilled and adaptable professional to support the expansion of Planet's constellation services across the strategic German market and the wider EMEA region. As a Solutions Architect, you will work closely with commercial leaders and senior Planet staff, playing an important role in supporting efforts to shape and win EMEA business. You will leverage your business experience, technical acumen and network to understand customer challenges, particularly with government and MOD entities, and to design effective solutions and compelling proposals. You will collaborate closely with clients and Planet's global teams and will contribute to local supply chain and manufacturing strategy. This position involves regional travel and offers a significant opportunity for a proactive, collaborative individual with a strong aerospace or remote sensing background to develop their skills and make a substantial impact within Planet.. . This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Berlin office 3 days per week.. . Impact You’ll Own:. . . Technical Solution Design: . You will be responsible for contributing to the design of robust, scalable satellite-based solutions for key customers across Germany and the EMEA region, particularly in defense and civil government. This involves translating customer needs into clear technical specifications and solution concepts, clearly articulating their value through proposals, and presenting these concepts to customers.. . Technical Support in Strategic Pursuits. : Serving as a key technical member of the Space Business Group, you will support strategic customer engagements in Germany and EMEA from initial technical discussions through to solution definition, negotiation and contracting. You will collaborate closely with the global space business team as well as other corporate support functions to help qualify opportunities and ensure solutions align with customer requirements and Planet’s capabilities, assisting in building strong technical relationships with key stakeholders.. . Market Collaboration & Cross-Functional Technical Engagement. : You will gather and share customer feedback and technical requirements from the German and broader EMEA market to inform Planet's global product roadmap and service offerings. This includes collaborating with product management, engineering, and cross-functional support teams to champion regional market needs, acting as an important technical liaison between the EMEA market and Planet's internal teams, facilitating clear communication, ensuring alignment on project requirements, and assisting in resolving technical challenges for successful customer outcomes.. . Support for German Strategic Initiatives. : You will provide critical technical expertise and input to support the assessment, strategy, and planning related to European supply chain and manufacturing initiatives. This includes collaborating with internal teams to evaluate technical feasibility, requirements, and the implications of establishing or expanding certain operations or services in Europe, and acting as a technical liaison with local partners or suppliers as needed.. . . What You Bring:. . . Proficient in both German and English, with written and verbal communication skills in each language. . . Solid experience in designing or delivering technical solutions for customers, with experience working with and understanding the needs of the German government and specifically the German Bundeswehr.. . Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Systems, Software), Physics, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, or a related technical field.. . 6+ years in a client-facing technical role such as Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or Technical Pre-Sales within the space, aerospace, defense, remote sensing, or a related high-technology industry.. . Good understanding of satellite systems, constellation services, or geospatial data and their applications. Industry knowledge in aerospace or remote sensing is essential.. . Experience in fast-paced or startup environments is beneficial.. . Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.. . Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and operate with a good degree of autonomy on assigned tasks.. . Willingness and ability to travel across the EMEA region as required to support customer engagements.. . Eligible for US Export Control licenses such as ITAR and EAR. .
