Our goal is to deliver the next-generation of Conversational AI (CAI) by leveraging and creating the latest in Generative AI technology. We are looking for a Head of AI to lead our AI strategy and AI technical team, reporting directly to the Chief Technology & Product Officer. This role is multifaceted, spanning technical ownership, AI Governance, and thought leadership, and this individual will be instrumental in shaping the AI vision of LivePerson.   . .  . . Responsibilities. . . Strategic Direction and Roadmap Development:. Define and execute AI strategy by balancing formal roadmap work with innovation-focused projects. Prioritize initiatives based on customer conversations, internal stakeholder feedback, and an understanding of future industry trends.. . Team Leadership and Project Oversight:. Lead and manage the AI/ML team across a diverse portfolio of active projects across Generative AI and traditional ML methods.. . Operational Process and Mentorship:. Establish the team's operating procedure as well as serve as a mentor to team members.  . . AI Governance, Risk, and Compliance:. Oversee all AI governance activities to ensure the responsible deployment of technology. This includes developing internal compliance documents, establishing customer facing AI Governance assets, and defining the overall AI governance strategy.. . Cross-functional Impact: . Partner with Product, Engineering, and Go-To-Market leaders to ensure AI capabilities translate into differentiated customer experiences, measurable outcomes, and revenue growth.. . Thought Leadership & External Engagement:. Represent LivePerson externally as a thought leader in AI through webinars, conferences and publications.. . .  . . Qualifications:. . . Advanced Degree and Experience:. A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the AI/ML space, including at least 5-7 years in a leadership capacity.. . Strategic and Visionary Leadership:. Proven ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for an AI team, with a demonstrated talent for balancing long-term roadmap initiatives with agile, innovation-focused projects.. . Expertise in Enterprise AI Applications:. Deep technical expertise in a range of AI and machine learning disciplines relevant to enterprise applications, including natural language processing (NLP), generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and data analysis.. . Proven Track Record of Shipping Products:. A strong history of leading AI projects from conception to successful deployment as customer-facing products, with a focus on creating tangible business value.. . Exceptional People Management Skills:. Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and growing a high-performing team of AI/ML scientists and engineers, with the ability to foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.. . Strong Business Acumen and Customer Focus:. Experience in a customer-facing role, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and a proven ability to partner with sales and other business units to drive customer success.. . Expertise in AI Governance, Risk, and Compliance:. In-depth knowledge of AI ethics, security, and compliance, with hands-on experience in developing and implementing AI governance frameworks, conducting bias analyses, and creating documentation for relevant stakeholders.. . Operational Excellence:. Proven track record of establishing and refining operational processes for an AI team, including project management, quality assurance, and support workflows, with an eye toward efficiency and scalability.. . Cross-Functional Collaboration:. Benefits: . . The salary range for this role will be between $250,000 to $315,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors, including, but not limited to your location, skills, experience, education, and/or professional certifications.
