Location: Remote. 540 is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to support the DoD in building a next-generation Air Force aircraft maintenance application powered by Angular, Apigee, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud. Designers on this team play a critical role in shaping how Air Force maintainers interact with the platform by translating complex maintenance workflows into intuitive and effective user experiences.. . You’ll work closely with engineers, architects, product stakeholders, and end users to design interfaces that improve usability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness across the aircraft maintenance platform.. . Location. : Remote within the continental United States. Citizenship & Clearance Requirement. : per client requirements, candidates must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Education Requirement: . Lead the design of intuitive, user-centered interfaces for a complex aircraft maintenance platform. . Translate operational workflows and technical requirements into clear, usable interface designs. . Create and iterate on user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups. . Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders to ensure designs are technically feasible and implemented accurately. . Conduct stakeholder and user interviews to understand workflows, pain points, and mission requirements. . Work directly with end users to validate designs and ensure solutions support real-world operational needs. . Develop and maintain design standards and UI patterns to support consistency across the platform. . Present design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. . Collaborate closely with front-end engineers to ensure designs are implemented correctly in Angular-based applications. . Continuously improve the user experience by incorporating user feedback, usability testing, and iterative design. . . REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE. . . 7+ years of UI/UX design experience for digital applications. . Deep understanding of User-Centered Design principles and methodologies. . A strong portfolio demonstrating design process and deliverables across a variety of digital products or platforms. . Experience producing user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups. . Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and user research. . Ability to translate complex workflows and functional requirements into intuitive visual experiences. . Experience designing for component-based design systems or modern front-end frameworks (Angular, React, etc.). . Working understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. . Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills. . Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineers, architects, and product stakeholders. . Strong sense of ownership and ability to drive design work from concept through delivery. . . NICE TO HAVE. . . Experience working with Angular Material design systems. . Experience collaborating closely with developers to validate UI implementations. . Familiarity with modern Agile software development practices. .
