The Senior IT Security Analyst will play a critical role in establishing and safeguarding the foundation of our cybersecurity infrastructure as a standalone company.. Based in Houston or as a 100% remote role, this role ensures the protection of our systems, data, and operations during a period of significant change and growth. It will lead threat detection and response, oversee vulnerability management, and implement key security controls across cloud and on-prem environments.. The analyst will also support compliance readiness, user awareness training, and . incident response. protocols in close partnership with internal and external partners. This position reports to the VP of Digital and Technology.. This role is both proactive and hands-on, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. It requires close collaboration with IT, Legal, HR, and business leadership, and plays a visible role in delivering cybersecurity processes that are scalable, resilient, and aligned to our evolving business goals.. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:. You’ll be a key player in our cybersecurity program, combining tactical incident response with long-term security strategy. You’ll work across IT, business units, and third-party vendors to ensure our systems are secure, compliant, and resilient.. Lead investigations into security incidents, identify root causes, and drive timely resolution.. Conduct proactive threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.. Collaborate with IT and business teams to implement technical controls that align with policy and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR, or other relevant frameworks).. Continuously monitor security tools (. SIEM. , EDR, DLP, etc.) and triage escalated alerts.. Maintain and evolve incident response playbooks, threat models, and disaster recovery protocols.. Assist in third-party risk assessments and security reviews for vendors and partners.. Train and mentor junior analysts; serve as a subject matter expert in internal security forums.. Provide input into enterprise risk assessments and support audit and compliance efforts.. YOU HAVE:. Ideally, 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity within fast-paced, sophisticated IT environments.. A track record of solving real security challenges—from responding to active threats to hardening systems post-incident.. Deep technical proficiency across tools like Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Microsoft Defender, or similar platforms.. Deep understanding of network protocols, cloud security (especially AWS/Azure), IAM, and endpoint defense.. Experience applying and interpreting security frameworks like NIST, ISO, GDPR, or others relevant to your industry.. Preferable relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCIH, or similar).. Preferably, experience with Zero Trust architecture, . DevSecOps. , or OT/ICS environments.. Previous exposure to private equity-owned or high-growth carve-out environments is a plus..
