Client requires a technical writer to document the build, implementation, maintenance and operations of a Digital Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) to support a large information security program in the software services technology industry. . . Key Responsibilities. . . Ensure clear, accurate, and compliant documentation that supports the secure operation of the digital SCIF. . Create comprehensive technical documentation for the Digital SCIF, including:. . Procedures for building, configuring, and maintaining secure digital environments. . User and administrator guides for system operations, access controls, and compliance workflows. . Maintenance checklists, troubleshooting guides, and change management records. . Compliance documentation to meet federal and industry standards (e.g., DoD, NIST, ISO 27001). . . . Define and document workflows for securing, managing, and auditing the Digital SCIF, ensuring alignment with sensitive information handling protocols. . Develop security playbooks, . incident response. protocols, and audit trail processes. . Partner with cybersecurity engineers, architects, compliance officers, and project managers to gather requirements and ensure technical accuracy.. . Translate technical jargon into clear, user-friendly documentation for both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. . Use documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, etc.) to organize and version-control materials. . . Required Qualifications. . . 3-5+ years of technical writing experience in IT security or cybersecurity. . Expertise in technical writing, cybersecurity standards, and experience documenting secure IT systems and compliance requirements. . Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, DFARS) and digital security controls (e.g., encryption, access control, network segmentation).. . Familiarity with secure infrastructure design, cloud security, or zero-trust architectures.. . Ability to create concise content. . Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation. . Ability to deliver high quality documentation with appropriate level of detail. . Ability to represent complex technical concepts in easily understandable text and pictures. . Familiarity with the SDLC and software development. . Must be able to create and maintain documentation on implementations. . Must be able to create and maintain documentation on the implementation and operational/maintenance processes. . Ability to write for diverse audiences. . Ability to work autonomously and under pressure. . Ability to influence others and demonstrate leadership. . Excellent attention to detail. . Strong organizational skills. . Excellent analytical skills. . Excellent documentation skills; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. . Collaborative team worker – both in person and virtually using MS Teams or similar. . Ability to work as liaison between business and information security / information technology. . Flexibility to accommodate working across different time zones. . Excellent interpersonal communication skills with strong spoken and written English. . Business outcomes mindset. . Experience working at a company with a global footprint and a large enterprise environment. . Knowledge of Digital SCIF standards or physical SCIF documentation is strongly preferred. . Below is the pay range of this position for considered candidates based on qualifications and experience.. Pay Range $88—$90 USD.
