The Senior Cloud Security Developer will contribute to our IDR department by leading and supporting initiatives that advance our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) capabilities through the development of cloud-native detections and security coverage across major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), enabling us to better protect our customers from emerging threats.. About the Role. A Senior Cloud Security Developer within the Detection & Response (D&R) team is a cybersecurity expert and an experienced cloud detections developer who also plays a key leadership and mentorship role. In this position, you'll research and curate alerts and reports within your assigned detection surface, monitor emerging threats, and identify areas for investment that will strengthen Arctic Wolf’s threat detection capabilities.. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with team members, Product Management, Security Services, and other specialists to constantly enhance the breadth and depth of our threat coverage — all with the shared mission to make security better for our customers every day.. Responsibilities Include:. Research and develop deep expertise in threat surfaces and the corresponding telemetry.. Propose improvements to detection coverage and efficacy.. Lead and mentor technical team members; support the growth of emerging leaders.. Develop, tune, and maintain novel detections across cloud environments.. Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle.. Write clean, efficient, testable, and secure code.. Create runbooks, reports, and documentation for detection workflows.. Share knowledge and research findings across the team and broader organization.. Participate in our annual R&D Hackathon to drive innovation and cross-functional collaboration — sometimes turning experimental ideas into production features.. About You. You bring a strong mix of security research and development experience, especially in the context of cloud environments. You're passionate about cloud security, anomaly detection, and building resilient detections to combat evolving threats. You're also comfortable working in Agile teams and mentoring others.. You have deep expertise in two or more of the following areas:. Cloud Security Research for IaaS/PaaS/SaaS platforms. Cloud Architecture and Security Operations (CloudSecOps). Public Cloud Platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure. Containerization: Kubernetes, Docker. SaaS Security: Microsoft365, Defender, Google Suite. Email Security: Microsoft Exchange, Proofpoint, Mimecast. Detection Development: Anomaly/behavioral-based detections, tuning & optimization. You are proficient in at least two of the following:. Python (preferred language). Test-Driven Development (TDD). Secure Development Practices. DevOps Tooling and Practices. Agile Methodologies: SCRUM, Kanban. Bonus if you’ve worked with:. Open Source Security Tools: Zeek/Bro, Suricata, etc..
