Manage and motivate a team of software engineers focused on Starburst Galaxy and Starburst Enterprise products.. Perform exploratory testing of various integrations and provide feedback to the engineering team.. Drive technical direction and provide leadership in an agile environment.. Partner with other engineering leaders to define best practices and build software.. Collaborate with leaders from Product, Marketing, and Analytics to iterate on design and architecture.. Coach and mentor engineers at all levels.. Recruit, interview, hire and onboard new engineers.. At least 3 years of engineering management experience with a total of 8 years or more experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience managing partial- or fully-remote teams across multiple timezones. Passion for growing diverse teams and improving team performance. Interest in all phases of agile software development lifecycle. Understanding of SQL databases. Hands-on experience in the Data Engineering space (ODBC, Python ecosystem, BI tools, Spark). Experience with good engineering practices and software craftsmanship. Experience in shipping features and meeting deadlines consistently.
