Cloud Data Architect at Oddball. Location Information: United States. A strangely human digital agency.. Own and document cloud data architecture across a multi-cloud environment with a primary focus on Azure and Azure Databricks. Lead data architecture modernization efforts including migration strategy, data modeling, and platform engineering. Design and implement governance, security, and compliance strategies for a platform handling sensitive Veteran PII and PHI. Enable data science and AI/ML capabilities on the platform including model deployment infrastructure and data pipelines. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and VA stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and consumable data products. Support data ingestion, curation, and interoperability across disparate VA source systems. Build and maintain technical architecture documentation, security strategies, and compliance artifacts. Proven experience designing and managing enterprise cloud data architectures in Azure. Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks for data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML workloads. Experience with Power BI or similar visualization platforms. Familiarity with AWS data services is a plus given the multi-cloud environment. Strong background in data governance, security compliance, and federal data standards including FISMA and NIST 800-53. Experience with large-scale data migration and architecture modernization efforts. Ability to produce clear, detailed technical architecture documentation. Thrives in a remote, collaborative Agile environment. Communicates clearly and openly, whether presenting architecture decisions to leadership or working through integration design with engineers.
