Application Support Engineer (Aveva PI System) at Sword Group. We are looking for an applications engineer with experience of supporting energy sector or similar application portfolios. Experience of supporting a diverse portfolio of applications, including Real-Time asset information systems (primarily AVEVA PI).. . Previous extensive experience as an applications engineer regularly troubleshooting and ensuring smooth running of the system. . Experience of support energy sector or similar application portfolios, with a knowledge of SQL and necessary database interfaces. . Experience working and liasing closely with vendors and has the ability to keep them on track. . Experience of working through and application upgrade and comfortable working in testing environments. . Analytical skills. . Application interoperability, integrations, data flows, functionality overlap. . Real-time data/ PI knowledge/understanding. . Database knowledge. . Automation/scripting skills – python (desirable). . Reporting and presenting. . Understating on allocation, system config and performance, production/lost production figures. . Familiar with agile and devops. . Fast learner and delivery focused. . Company Location: United Kingdom.
