In this remote role, you will be responsible for analyzing genetic and genomic data, performing statistical modeling, and interpreting results to support research and decision-making. . Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with farm managers, breeders, and senior leadership in New Zealand to translate genetic data into practical breeding and herd management decisions. You will also assist in designing experiments, preparing reports, and ensuring all analyses are accurate and scientifically rigorous. Strong quantitative skills, proficiency in statistical software, and experience with genetic datasets are essential for success in this position.. Position:.  Qualitative Geneticist. Salary:.  PHP 65,000 - PHP 85,000/month (flexible to more experienced candidates). Working Hours & Conditions:.  Flexible hours with some overlap with New Zealand business hours; full-time (remote). Holidays. : TBD. Responsibilities:. Interpret genetic, pedigree, and performance data to inform breeding decisions. Assess qualitative traits relevant to Wagyu production, including:. Marbling potential. Meat quality attributes. Temperament. Structural soundness. Fertility and maternal traits. Support sire and dam selection strategies aligned with long-term herd goals. Review and interpret EBVs, genomic test results, and breed society data. Provide recommendations on genetic improvement pathways and breeding programs. Assist in evaluating new genetics (domestic and international) for suitability in NZ systems. Prepare clear, practical reports and insights for non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with onshore teams across time zones using digital tools. Qualifications:. Degree in Genetics, Animal Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field. Strong understanding of . beef cattle genetics. , ideally Wagyu or other premium beef breeds. Experience interpreting genetic and breeding data in a commercial farming context. Ability to translate genetic theory into practical, real-world recommendations. Strong written communication skills, particularly for explaining complex concepts simply. High attention to detail and analytical thinking. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Preferred (Nice to Have). • Experience with Wagyu genetics specifically. • Familiarity with New Zealand, Australian, or similar pasture-based beef systems. • Experience working with breed societies, stud breeders, or genetic evaluation programs. • Exposure to genomic selection tools and qualitative trait assessment frameworks.
