The company represents rights holders, sporting federations, broadcasters, and media owners, facilitating the sale of sponsorships, advertising campaigns, and activations/experiences to brands. Our client is currently seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to manage the financial operations of the group and its entities. This crucial role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions efficiently, and ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards, all while addressing the specific needs of the sport, media and entertainment industries.. Role:. As Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of our client and its subsidiaries. This role focuses on operational finance tasks, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), and supporting the executive team and senior management in delivering timely and accurate financial data. The Bookkeeper will work closely with teams across business functions to support scalable systems and processes that align with the client's growth strategy in the sport, media, and entertainment sectors.. Responsibilities:. Transaction Processing and Record Keeping. . Record daily financial transactions like invoices and payments using Xero or similar software.. . Assist with payroll processing for all entities, ensuring compliance with tax and superannuation rules.. . Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms.. . Keep ledgers up to date and track expenses for projects.. . Accounts Payable and Receivable. . Create, verify, and process supplier invoices and payments.. . Monitor and follow up on unpaid invoices.. . Set up efficient payment methods like direct debit or credit card.. . Revenue Recognition Support. . Help apply the right revenue recognition rules for each business unit.. . Keep detailed records of revenue transactions for audits.. . Financial Reporting Support. . Prepare financial reports such as profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.. . Assist with budgeting, track actual expenses, and report on differences.. . Support creation of consolidated financial reports for the group.. . Compliance and Audit Preparation. . Ensure financial records meet Australian Accounting Standards and are ready for audit.. . Maintain compliance documents for GST, PAYG, and superannuation.. . Coordinate with external advisors to follow tax and transfer pricing policies.. . System Implementation and Scalability. . Use tools like Xero to streamline finance tasks and connect with group systems.. . Help implement scalable finance processes to support growth and potential acquisitions.. . This role requires adaptability to the financial cycles of the media and entertainment industries. Media subsidiary manages campaign-based revenue and intellectual property, while the other subsidiary handles event-based revenue. The Bookkeeper will need to manage these varying income streams while ensuring consistency across the group.. . Education: . Certificate IV or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field.. . Experience: . At least 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in media, entertainment, or project-based environments.. . Technical Skills: . Proficient in Xero or similar tools; experience with payroll systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets. Familiarity with payment platforms is a bonus.. . Compliance Knowledge: .
