As a result of our steady growth plans, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Backend Engineer to join our wider Software Development team! You'll be working as part of a cross-functional squad within an Agile environment, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to deliver first-class products and features on our Student Beans app! You'll be responsible for delivering brands like Asos, Gymshark, Samsung and more to students across the country. . On a day to day, you will be responsible for:. . Backend development of our B2B SaaS product, Verification Tech and Website. . Partaking in squad stand ups, ceremonies, and delivering results within an Agile working environment that works to 2 week sprints. . Collaborating within a wider cross-functional squad, and communicating with multiple stakeholders. . Taking part in team-wide code reviews. . Writing tests to ensure that all outgoing code is robust and reliable. . Raising any errors, issues or concerns to the wider Guild, as well as bringing in new ideas!. . Communicating openly and proactively with the squad with a positive and passionate approach. . Prioritising work load in line with wider business goals and your own squad goals. . About You. We would love to hear from you if you have experience in the following:. . Current industry experience in Ruby on Rails. . Experience with unit testing. . Passion for all things Ruby/Ruby on Rails and back end, and with an interest in keeping up to date with the latest technologies. . A positive approach to working within a cross-functional squad in an Agile environment. . Any experience with MySQL / NoSQLwould be helpful but not essential. . An ability to communicate with non-technical individuals to communicate backend technologies and perspectives . . Company Location: United Kingdom.
