
Part-Time Bookkeeper - Evok Innovations at BLANKSLATE Partners. Evok Innovations is an early-stage cleantech venture capital fund with offices in Vancouver and San Francisco. We are seeking a part-time Bookkeeper (10–15 hours per week) to manage day-to-day accounting operations across multiple Canadian and US entities. Reporting to the Controller, the ideal candidate has experience in multi-company, multi-currency environments and enjoys working independently in a small, dynamic team. Experience in venture capital, private equity, or fund accounting is considered a strong asset. . Key Responsibilities. Full-Cycle Bookkeeping & Payroll. Perform all day-to-day accounting activities across multiple entities, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany invoicing, and month-end close activities.. Prepare monthly bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations for review.. Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online, ensuring completeness and consistency across entities and currencies.. Maintain Dropbox files and attach supporting documentation in QuickBooks Online for all transactions to ensure completeness and audit readiness.. Prepare bi-monthly Canadian and US payrolls for processing.. Prepare all payroll-related remittances and submissions for filing.. Audit, Tax & Compliance. Prepare GST/HST returns, ensuring compliance with Canadian and US tax requirements.. Assist with annual tax filings and provide supporting schedules and documentation.. Provide organizational support regarding the maintenance of audit-ready financial records, liaising with auditors as directed.. General Operations Support. Maintain accurate vendor, client, and employee records.. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment scheduling.. Support ongoing improvements to accounting workflows and documentation standards.. Qualifications. Minimum 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment.. Strong understanding of Canadian and US accounting practices, payroll, and tax compliance.. Proven experience managing intercompany and multi-currency transactions is a must.. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and online banking/payment tools (e.g., Plooto / Ramp).. Experience preparing GST/HST filings and assisting with external audits.. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities remotely.. Preferred / Nice to Have. Experience in a venture capital, private equity, or fund accounting environment.. Familiarity with GP/LP structures, management fees, and investment fund accounting..
