BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors. . Position Summary. BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented . Senior Engineer . to join our team, providing technical support in support of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center Strategic Design and Construction Branch (AFCEC/CFSD) located at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)-Lackland, TX.  This position is a remote support position.. Job Duties & Responsibilities. Provide technical engineering and Subject Matter Expert (SME) support. Conduct design reviews and make recommendations as to corrective action or approval.. Perform technical reviews of RFIs (potential changes, differing site conditions, etc.). Provide technical reviews of A&E and construction submittals.. Provide expert analysis and advice to Government Project Managers and stakeholders regarding A&E and construction Contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with DoD and industry standards, to include recommendation for approval or disapproval by the Government (e.g. designs, work plans, work classification, schedules, cost estimates, Contractor’s approach/methods, Contractor proposals, to include effectiveness and efficiency of technical approach, and analysis of proposed work/activity productivity) in their respective discipline/area of expertise.. Develop and present technical presentations, visual media, and/or training related to mission areas.. Travel to various Air Force bases on temporary duty, and possibly infrequent trips to HQ AFCEC for in-person meetings. Key Qualifications. U.S. Citizenship . and the ability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC is . required . Knowledge: . o  Knowledge of Department of the Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) engineering and design regulations.. o  Familiarity with the Air Force Civil Engineering organization. . o  Expertise reviewing technical deliverables, designs, and construction submittals.. Strong Communication Skills:. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Software: . Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Self-Starter:. Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously. Experience & Education. Experience:  . At least ten (10) years of experience performing engineering duties related to design and/or construction.  . Education/Certifications:. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering disciplines; and a master’s degree in any field.  Professional engineer’s (PE) license is required; Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable. American Petroleum Institute (API) Certifications are highly desirable.  Substitution of experience for education, and certifications for experience will be considered.      . Physical Requirements. Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time. Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.. Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Capable of lifting up to 10 lbs.. Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
