We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to lead the maintenance, enhancement, and support of complex enterprise applications. This role focuses on ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability across mainframe and distributed systems. You will serve as a technical leader, providing guidance to engineering teams, resolving critical production incidents, and implementing proactive monitoring and self-healing capabilities. Provide 24x7 Tier 2 support for enterprise applications and systems, including nights, weekends, and holidays.. Serve as the technical lead for diagnosing and resolving critical production incidents in mainframe and distributed applications.. Develop, enhance, and maintain application features, integrations, and system functionality.. Mentor engineering teams, sharing best practices and fostering collaboration.. Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and self-healing mechanisms for applications and APIs.. Analyze operational trends, system logs, and application performance to anticipate and prevent issues.. Manage Severity 1 and 2 incidents, coordinating communication and resolution with internal and external stakeholders.. Perform application and database maintenance activities including data uploads, migrations, and processing corrections.. Maintain and update COBOL programs, JCL, and enterprise scheduling jobs.. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize batch processes, infrastructure, and application performance.. 8+ years of experience in IBM mainframe and distributed web/cloud-based application support in 24x7 environments.. Expertise in IBM DB2 (SQL queries, stored procedures, performance tuning), Redis, Neo4J, MySQL, MongoDB, COBOL, CICS, J2EE, Java batch, JCL, Shell scripting, and Control-M/EM Enterprise Scheduler.. Proficiency with Linux, z/OS (TSO/ISPF), VMware, MQ Series, WebSphere, and monitoring tools (Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, Site24x7, SolarWinds, AWS CloudWatch).. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.. Excellent oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.. Ability to take ownership of production issues, anticipate risks, escalate appropriately, and deliver solutions under pressure.. Strong business acumen with the ability to assess operational impact and prioritize urgent issues..
