Analog ASIC Design Engineer at Vellex Computing. About Vellex Computing. Vellex Computing is a venture-backed startup building a new class of processor. We are moving beyond traditional digital computation to create dedicated analog hardware accelerators that solve the world's most complex optimization problems. Our technology represents a fundamental shift in computing architecture, offering orders-of-magnitude speedups for challenges previously considered intractable.. Founded by leading researchers and industry veterans from Stanford, UC Berkeley, AMD, and Texas Instruments, our team has developed a novel analog computing architecture. We are now expanding our team to design and launch the next generation of our analog compute engine to be proven in silicon.. The Role. As an Analog ASIC Design Engineer at Vellex, you will be at the heart of our product development. You will develop analog and mixed-signal blocks from concept to tape-out. You will be responsible for designing, simulating, and verifying the core circuits that power our hardware accelerator. This is an opportunity to work on a groundbreaking technology from the ground up and make a significant impact.. Your responsibilities will include:. . Designing and implementing high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits, including amplifiers, data converters (ADCs/DACs), comparators, and custom computational blocks in a standard CMOS process.. . Creating schematics, running extensive simulations (transient, AC, noise, Monte Carlo) to verify performance across all process corners, voltages, and temperatures (PVT).. . Overseeing the physical layout of your designs to manage parasitics, ensure matching, and meet performance and power targets.. . Defining block-level specifications and ensure your designs integrate seamlessly into the top-level system.. . Developing and executing a post-silicon validation plan to test and characterize designs in the lab.. . What We're Building. Our analog processors are designed to tackle computationally-intensive optimization problems in real-time. The circuits you design will directly accelerate solutions for:. . . Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning:. Drastically speeding up hyperparameter optimization for training Large Language Models (LLMs) and other complex AI models.. . . Logistics & Supply Chain:. Solving large-scale vehicle and package routing problems, like the Traveling Salesperson Problem, in real time.. . . Finance:. Performing complex portfolio optimization and high-frequency trading analysis faster than any digital system.. . . Drug Discovery & Genomics:. Simulating protein folding and molecular interactions to find new medicines.. . . Telecommunications:. Optimizing real-time resource allocation and beamforming in 5G/6G wireless networks.. . . Robotics:. Enabling autonomous systems to perform real-time motion planning and control in complex environments.. . MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.. . 3+ years of hands-on experience in full-custom analog or mixed-signal IC design.. . Proven track record of designing core analog blocks such as op-amps, bandgaps, LDOs, ADCs, or DACs.. . Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools for schematic capture, simulation, and layout (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre).. . Solid understanding of CMOS device physics, layout effects, and challenges in deep-submicron process nodes.. . Experience with at least one full tape-out cycle.. . Preferred Skills:. . Experience designing circuits for analog computation or hardware accelerators.. . Familiarity with optimization theory and algorithms.. . Strong scripting skills for automation and data analysis (Python, SKILL, or similar).. . Experience with post-silicon bring-up, validation, and debugging.. . Company Location: India.
