We are currently looking for an Associate Director of Accounting & Fiscal Compliance in the United States.. This key leadership role oversees the full scope of accounting operations and fiscal compliance within a mission-driven organization. The Associate Director manages the monthly close process, audit coordination, financial reporting, and system implementation, while mentoring a team of accounting professionals. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal regulations and maintaining strong internal controls, collaborating cross-functionally to support organizational sustainability and growth. Manage month-end and year-end financial closing, including journal entry review, revenue recognition, cash management, and balance sheet reconciliations.. . Oversee independent financial statement audits and Uniform Guidance audits, preparing schedules, documents, and liaising with external auditors.. . Develop, implement, and maintain fiscal policies, internal controls, and GAAP-compliant accounting practices.. . Supervise and mentor a team including Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, and Accounts Payable Specialist to meet deadlines and quality standards.. . Administer financial systems and expense/invoice management platforms, troubleshooting and supporting users.. . Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to ensure compliance with federal funding requirements and regulatory guidelines.. . Support leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial projects.. . . At least 10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including non-profit sector background.. . Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA certification preferred.. . Deep knowledge of government accounting regulations including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance).. . Strong understanding of GAAP, GASB, fiscal controls, and audit management.. . Experience managing month-end/year-end close and independent audits.. . Proficiency with accounting software such as MIP, Concur, Salesforce, and advanced Excel skills.. . Prior supervisory and team leadership experience.. . Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence to work effectively across all organizational levels.. . Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.. .
