We are looking for a new Chief Learning Officer to join the senior management team of the Foundation and help us realise our ambitious plans for global expansion and impact.. Reporting to the CEO, you will be the Foundation's senior leader on subject knowledge and pedagogy, leading the further development of our global teaching and learning strategy. You will ensure that all of our products, resources, and learning experiences are practical, fun and engaging for students and teachers whilst reflecting the best educational and pedagogical research and evidence. . . Define and lead the organisation’s education vision and output—overseeing production of teacher support, CPD, and learning solutions ensuring they align with global best practices and our organisational goals. You will work across the Foundation to shape understanding of our impact to ensure our programmes are high quality and effective.. . Work collaboratively across the organization so that education is at the heart of everything that we do based on real community insight and research. . . Elevate the profile of the Foundation as a thought leader representing the organisation at key educational events and conferences, fostering a network of experts collaborating on quality learning around the micro:bit and our goals.. . Develop and scale teaching networks and communities of professional development for teachers, including communities of practice globally.. . Main responsibilities. . Be the lead Foundation expert on subject knowledge and pedagogy related to computing, computer science, physical computing, AI and machine learning, digital making, and wider digital skills; as well as how these can be implemented across curriculums.. . Lead a highly skilled, high performance education team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.. . Provide editorial and creative vision for the Foundation’s education output. The role will be responsible for overseeing the production of curriculum, lessons and PD for teachers with a global focus and a fun and creative edge. . . Champion equity of access to high-quality computing education for underrepresented and underserved communities.. . Embed pedagogical excellence and inclusivity into all programs, curricula, and resources.. . Lead cross-functional teams to deliver agreed objectives and key results.. . Continue to develop the Foundation's global teaching and learning strategy, ensuring that our approaches reflect the best available evidence of what works in teaching and learning of computing and related subjects.. . Ensure that the Foundation team understand and apply the best approaches in order to improve our educational impact, including through structured training, and individual mentorship and support.. . Build a high public profile for the Foundation globally as an authoritative voice on computing and wider education, including through authoring blogs, papers, and articles; and organising and participating in seminars, conferences, and other speaking engagements.. . Support the Foundation's research activities, working closely with universities globally and effectively sharing that insight within the Foundation.. . Working with the product, marketing and commercial teams to ensure pedagogy focused product design and market positioning. . Collaborating with the partnerships team to identify and secure funding and deliver impact, building high profile partnerships to support delivery of our mission. . . As a member of the management team, contribute to the strategic direction, culture, and values of the organisation.. . Translate insights from the teaching community into impactful education programmes and marketing campaigns that resonate with educators worldwide.. . . Experience. . A demonstrable commitment to the mission and values of the Micro:bit Education Foundation.. . A significant background in education, whether in teaching, curriculum development, learning experience design, or research.. . Deep subject matter and pedagogical expertise in the field of computing, computer science, digital making and wider digital skills. . . An effective communicator, with significant experience of writing and public speaking. Articulate, with the ability to translate complex information for a range of audiences.. . An experienced manager and leader, with the ability to build diverse teams and support them to do great work; ideally you will have experience of managing remote teams.. . Experience of working internationally within a range of educational settings and contexts. . Natural collaboration skills, able to work across teams and a track record of working with colleagues to achieve results.. . Bringing a creative approach and editorial vision to production of education content and activity . . Excellent stakeholder management, including collaboration across a broad range of educational leadership and high-profile partnerships.. .
