This is a unique opportunity to join a mission-driven finance team that plays a critical role in supporting disaster recovery and resilience efforts across the U.S. As Accounting Manager, you will lead core accounting functions, mentor a high-performing team, and ensure compliance with government grant reporting. You'll work closely with senior leadership to streamline operations, enhance internal controls, and contribute to strategic financial planning. Lead, mentor, and manage a team handling Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cash management.. . Oversee timely and accurate preparation of government grant reports and ensure compliance with applicable terms and regulations.. . Collaborate with the Controller and finance leadership to improve month-end close processes and reporting accuracy.. . Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, and internal controls.. . Support financial operations by preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and generating insightful financial reports.. . Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance that informs decision-making.. . Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth within the finance team.. . . Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred).. . 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.. . Deep knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.. . Experience with financial systems and general accounting processes.. . Familiarity with government grant reporting and related compliance requirements.. . Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, and data modeling).. . Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.. . Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.. . High attention to detail, critical thinking, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.. .
