This role is a technical leadership position within the public sector sales team, focused on driving adoption, value, and growth for government, state, and educational clients. The SLED Sales Engineer acts as the technical expert, guiding prospects and customers through software deployment, security, and DevSecOps processes. You will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to deliver compelling product demonstrations, proof-of-value presentations, and technical guidance. The position provides the opportunity to influence strategic client decisions, expand market presence, and directly contribute to software supply chain security in the public sector. Partner with the SLED sales team to develop and execute account plans targeting government, state, and education customers.. . Collaborate with marketing to implement campaigns that increase brand awareness and pipeline within the territory.. . Own all technical aspects of the sales process, including product demonstrations, proofs-of-value, and solution design.. . Advise prospective and existing customers on software development, security, and deployment processes to align with product solutions.. . Participate in webinars, conferences, meetups, and other territory-focused marketing initiatives to grow engagement and pipeline.. . Advocate for customer needs internally, ensuring solutions address compliance, security, and operational requirements.. . Support the growth of existing customer accounts while acquiring new customer logos in the Southwest region.. . . Experience working with the state, local, and education (SLED) market.. . Familiarity with accreditation and security standards such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or HIPAA.. . Significant expertise in at least one of the following areas: DevOps/DevSecOps, container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman), container vulnerability scanning and mitigation, or application security (AppSec).. . Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.. . Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and influencing customers.. . Self-starter with bias for action and ownership, able to work independently and collaboratively.. . Must reside in the Southwest region of the United States.. .
