The Machine Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring machinery and automated systems meet applicable safety regulations and standards across North America. This role involves conducting risk assessments, implementing safeguarding measures, and supporting the integration of functional safety systems in compliance with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA 79, ISO 13849, and CSA Z432 standards. . . Key Responsibilities: . . Conduct machinery risk assessments and safety audits. . Develop and implement machine guarding and control reliability solutions. . Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI B11, ISO 13849, and other applicable standards. . Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to design and validate safety circuits (e.g. interlocks, E-stops, light curtains). . Lead Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) reviews and support program improvements. . Provide training and documentation for operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel. . Work with safety PLCs and safety-rated control components (e.g., GuardLogix, Siemens). . Maintain records of validations, inspections, and corrective actions. . . Qualifications: . . 3+ years of experience in machine safety, EHS, or industrial automation. . CMSE®, TUV Functional Safety Engineer, or CSP certification preferred. . Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910, NFPA 79, and ISO 13849-1. . Experience with safety systems, PLC programming, and guarding technologies. .
