We are looking for a passionate, experienced . Content Designer. to join the team! As a Content Designer, you’ll be at the heart of improving Moodle’s core learning product, helping ensure it meets the needs of educators, learners, and contributors around the world.. This is a fully remote role based in Australia on a parental leave fixed term contract to December 2026. We also welcome candidates from other locations in the APAC region who are close to Australia’s timezones (where many of the team this role will work closely with are located).. What you’ll do. In this role, you’ll spend your days collaborating with developers, designers, and product leads to shape new features and improvements. You’ll make sense of complex systems, improve legacy experiences, and support the evolution of our platform through clear, thoughtful interface content.. What your new job can look like:. Collaborating with developers, designers, and product leads to shape features and improvements from a content perspective. Creating experiences that make complex systems easier to understand and use, while meeting accessibility and localisation needs. Digging into legacy interfaces and help make them more usable, accessible, consistent, and scalable . Collaborating closely with engineers to ensure content fits system constraints and edge cases. Using insights from UX research to inform content decisions and address user pain points. Working with internal experts to align technical accuracy with user understanding. Helping refine information architecture and content patterns across the platform. Ensuring Moodle’s platform experiences are user-centered, scalable, and accessible for a global audience. We’d love to meet you. Especially if you can tell us about your:. Experience designing product content in complex or evolving software environments. Exceptional written and verbal communication in English, with strong writing and editing skills and a sharp eye for detail and consistency. Experience improving and iterating on existing experiences, not just designing from scratch. Comfort working in highly technical contexts: you can collaborate with engineers, ask the right questions, and write content that works within system constraints and edge cases. Ability to identify and prioritise high-impact content opportunities, manage your workload independently, and make informed content decisions. Familiarity with UX best practices, accessibility standards, and internationalisation. Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams (designers, developers, product managers, researchers). Interest in open-source, education, or designing inclusive technology for a global audience. Any previous experience writing for global or multilingual audiences is a bonus.
