Senior Strategist, Lifecycle Marketing at UN/COMMON. The Senior Strategist, Lifecycle Marketing provides lifecycle marketing strategy services to support the growth and retention performance of enterprise and high-growth direct-to-consumer (DTC) ecommerce clients.. This engagement focuses on developing lifecycle marketing strategies and advising on retention programs across channels including email, SMS, segmentation, experimentation, loyalty programs, and related retention marketing tools. The strategist works with Shopify-based ecommerce brands and supports lifecycle marketing programs that drive measurable revenue growth and customer engagement.. The contractor operates independently while collaborating with internal team members and client stakeholders to guide lifecycle marketing strategy, develop strategic roadmaps, and support the success of assigned accounts.. This role works closely with the Lifecycle Marketing team and designated company contact to align on priorities, deliverables, and timelines.. Contract Term: 1-year contractor engagement with potential for continuation based on business needs.. Expected Level of Effort: Up to 40 hours per week.. Responsibilities. Lifecycle Strategy Development. Develop lifecycle marketing strategies for assigned ecommerce client accounts . Create strategic roadmaps aligned to client goals, historical performance, and scoped service hours . Identify lifecycle initiatives including automated flows, campaign strategies, segmentation frameworks, experimentation plans, and cross-channel opportunities . Evaluate retention program performance and recommend improvements that drive measurable growth . Client Advisory and Strategic Leadership. Serve as a strategic advisor for assigned client accounts . Lead client strategy discussions and presentations . Provide guidance on lifecycle marketing best practices and platform capabilities . Address complex strategic questions and recommend solutions that support long-term client success . Reporting and Strategic Insights. Analyze lifecycle marketing performance data and translate results into actionable recommendations . Develop reporting and presentation materials that communicate performance insights and strategic opportunities . Identify performance drivers, emerging risks, and growth opportunities within lifecycle programs . Support clients in understanding program health and prioritizing future initiatives . Scope Alignment and Program Planning. Monitor scope of services for assigned accounts to ensure recommendations align with contracted hours and priorities . Identify potential scope risks or resource constraints and communicate recommendations to the company contact . Support prioritization of lifecycle initiatives based on business impact and feasibility . Strategic Collaboration with Internal Teams. Collaborate with internal team members supporting assigned accounts to ensure alignment between strategy and execution . Provide strategic guidance and feedback on lifecycle initiatives being developed or executed . Participate in internal discussions related to lifecycle program planning and experimentation strategies . Execution Review and Strategic Quality Assurance. Review lifecycle initiatives and campaign strategies to ensure alignment with overall program strategy and client objectives . Provide feedback that supports accuracy, brand consistency, and lifecycle marketing best practices . Identify opportunities to improve program performance and execution quality . 5 to 7 years of experience managing retention marketing programs for DTC ecommerce brands . Demonstrated experience developing lifecycle strategies across email, SMS, CRM, and loyalty programs . Extensive experience working with Klaviyo is required . Strong experience managing and optimizing retention programs . Experience working with Shopify or supporting Shopify-based ecommerce brands . Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing analytics and performance reporting . Ability to translate performance data into actionable marketing strategies . Strong client communication and presentation skills . Ability to work independently while collaborating with distributed teams . Agency experience is a plus .
