We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Criminal Defense Paralegal to join our client, a US-based law firm. This remote position requires an individual with substantial knowledge and expertise in criminal defense law who can assist attorneys in managing a diverse range of cases.. Key Responsibilities:. . Assist attorneys with trial preparation by organizing case files and conducting in-depth legal research.. . Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and client correspondence pertaining to criminal defense matters.. . Review and summarize evidence, including police reports and witness statements, to support case strategies.. . Maintain an organized case management system, ensuring all documentation is properly filed and accessible.. . Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and experts to streamline case progress.. . Support attorneys in trial preparations by coordinating exhibits and organizing materials.. . Conduct legal research as needed to aid in case development and strategic planning.. . Assist with administrative tasks including billing and case management duties when required.. . . Associate's degree or equivalent experience within a legal setting.. . 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on criminal defense being highly desirable.. . Comprehensive understanding of criminal law and pertinent legal principles.. . Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.. . Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.. . Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.. . Fluency in English is required.. . Familiarity with US criminal law on both state and federal levels.. . A minimum of one year of experience in a law office or legal environment.. . Solid writing and drafting skills.. . Experience with CLIO Manage software is a plus.. . Strong customer service skills.. . Able to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.. .
