Responsibilities:. -Ensure High Availability & Uptime of mission-critical databases operating on multi-TB datasets (5+ TB);. -Administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize relational and NoSQL databases across environments;. -Design schemas, indexes and access patterns; review SQL / NoSQL queries;. -Implement and manage robust backup and disaster recovery strategies;. -Build metrics, alerts, and dashboards to proactively detect performance issues (latency, replication lag, IOPS);. -Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) to automate database provisioning, maintenance, and scaling;. -Optimise cost and resource usage in AWS (Savings Plans, DynamoDB mode tuning);. -Partner with development teams to advise on database usage patterns and ensure best practices;. -Maintain internal documentation and host knowledge-sharing workshops.. - 3+ years in production with MariaDB and 1+ year with any of: ClickHouse, DynamoDB, OpenSearch;. -Deep knowledge of replication, sharding, partitioning, locking & transactions; . -Solid Linux (Debian / Ubuntu or RHEL), networking, shell / Python scripting;. -Hands-on monitoring with Prometheus + Grafana or Datadog;. -Practical IaC & containerisation skills (Terraform, Docker). .
