Solutions Engineer at Vasion. Vasion is seeking a talented Solutions Engineer to join our growing team in the APAC region. With our expanding global presence, we are looking for a skilled engineer to support our customers across the Asia-Pacific market.. This is primarily a remote position based in Australia, preferably in the Sydney or Melbourne region.. Role Purpose. Enable customer outcomes and predictable revenue by leading technical discovery, delivering compelling demos, and validating Vasion solutions through time-boxed POCs that de-risk opportunities and prepare customers and partners for successful implementation.. What Success Looks Like. Effective discovery that surfaces objectives, constraints, risks, and success criteria. Tailored demos that clearly connect Vasion capabilities to prospect needs and value. Predictable POC outcomes with clear exit criteria that accelerate deal cycles. Partner and AE enablement that optimizes sales outcomes. Early identification and mitigation of technical risk. High-quality technical handoffs to Services and CS. Core Responsibilities. Discovery and Value Mapping. Lead technical discovery with admins, security, networking, and line-of-business stakeholders. Shape and map requirements to Vasion capabilities and integrations; document value hypotheses. Demonstrations and POV/POC. Build and deliver tailored demos and sandbox environments. Design and run time-boxed POCs with measurable success criteria and exit gates. Technical Leadership in the Deal. Assert best practices. Address security, compliance, performance, and scalability questions. Provide installation approaches and SOW inputs in partnership with Services. Provide technical foresight to identify and mitigate potential blockers in the POC. Competitive Positioning and Enablement. Articulate differentiators and trade-offs versus alternatives. Equip AEs and partners with reusable assets, reference demos, and decision guides. Field Feedback and Readiness. Capture insights from evaluations to inform product roadmap and packaging. Contribute repeatable assets back to our library. Presales Excellence: Discovery, objection handling, storytelling, demonstrations, executive communication. Architecture Literacy: Understanding of common software patterns (MSA, EDA) and diagram types (DFDs, sequence). Networking/Information Systems: Troubleshooting DNS, proxies, firewalls, VPCs, NLBs; strong grasp of LDAP and SSO (Azure Entra, Okta, Ping); familiarity with NFS. Security and Compliance Literacy: PKI basics, network security standards, and awareness of frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO, FedRAMP. Domain Knowledge: Print, Workflow, and Output Automation across modern cloud stacks (AWS, Azure, GCP). Tools: Diagramming; bash and/or PowerShell; SQL basics; RESTful APIs; fundamentals of CI/CD. Qualifications. 3-5+ years in presales engineering or solution engineering for SaaS or enterprise software. Proven track record running successful POCs and technical evaluations. Comfortable engaging from IT admin to Director; strong writing and presentation skills. Strong IT expertise with hands-on experience in system administration, cloud services, or infrastructure management. Proficiency in common operating systems including Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS, iOS, and Android. English language proficiency required. Bonus: Experience with complex integrations and partner-led delivery; additional language skills for regional engagements (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Korean). Key Performance Indicators. New, Add and Upsell ARR. Technical win rate on opportunities with SE engagement. POC success rate and average time-to-value. Sales cycle reduction and average deal size uplift. Forecast accuracy for technical risk and effort. Reuse rate of demos and assets contributed to the library. First-90-day post-sale escalation rate on opportunities with SE involvement. Collaboration Model. Sales: Deal strategy, qualification, competitive positioning, pricing assumptions. Solution Architecture: Technical context (use-case, goals, network topology). Product: Field insights, roadmap feedback, beta candidates. Engineering: Feasibility clarifications, edge-case reproduction. Professional Services: SOW scope guidance, handoff quality, implementation feasibility. Customer Success: Success criteria alignment, adoption risks, expansion signals. Partners: Engagement, mentoring, solution validation, joint delivery readiness. Operating Principles. Value First: Connect every activity to quantitative and qualitative customer outcomes. Standard Over Bespoke: Lead with productized patterns and configuration. Clarity of Scope: Explicit assumptions, constraints, and out-of-scope items. Security by Design: Least privilege, data minimization, and auditability. Design for Delivery: Pave a clean path from evaluation to implementation. Geographic and Location Details. Regional Scope: Asia-Pacific region including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, and surrounding markets. Remote Work: Fully remote position with all necessary IT equipment provided. Office Collaboration: Opportunity to collaborate with global teams including Bath, UK and Frankfurt, Germany offices.
