As a New Technology Principal Engineer – Industrial Automation, you will lead the research, development, and deployment of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies that enhance operational efficiency and unlock new capabilities. You will create technology roadmaps, implement automation innovations, and deliver solutions across manufacturing platforms, including robotics, digital twins, and smart factory systems. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, external partners, and vendor networks to scale technologies from concept to commercialization. With a balance of strategic vision and hands-on expertise, you will drive breakthroughs that optimize operations, reduce costs, and support next-generation manufacturing initiatives. Frequent travel to facilities and vendor sites ensures a close connection between innovation and real-world application.. . Accountabilities. ·         Lead the development and implementation of breakthrough technologies in robotics, vision systems, AR/VR tools, smart factories, digital twins, and predictive systems.. ·         Research and integrate emerging technologies to improve automation capabilities.. ·         Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for process and equipment optimization.. ·         Develop and execute technology roadmaps that achieve step-change improvements and meet investment thresholds.. ·         Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving control system and automation issues.. ·         Identify cost-effective technology opportunities, develop business cases, and support commercialization at scale.. ·         Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, R&D, IT, vendors, and contractors to align initiatives and deliver solutions.. ·         Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.. ·         8+ years of experience in electrical/control system design.. ·         Minimum 5 years of practical experience in consumer products or related manufacturing environments, ideally with FDA or USDA regulations.. ·         Proven leadership in developing and commercializing new manufacturing technologies, including process, packaging, automation, and material handling innovations.. ·         Strong track record of building and managing external partnerships with vendors and technology developers.. ·         Experience providing both tactical and strategic project leadership.. ·         Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.. ·         Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% to manufacturing and vendor sites across North America.. .
