OSP Engineering Manager at UtilitiesOne. Utilities One. is seeking an experienced and driven . Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering Manager . to lead, develop, and enhance our fiber engineering team. This pivotal role is responsible for managing both onshore and offshore engineering teams, overseeing strategic partnerships, and ensuring top-quality fiber network designs.. Responsibilities:. . Identify, manage, mentor, and grow the onshore OSP engineering team, providing ongoing training and professional development;. . Coordinate closely with offshore engineering teams to maintain seamless workflow and quality standards;. . Act as the primary client interface, ensuring clear, effective communication and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction;. . Develop and execute a strategic plan for transitioning from outsourced partnerships to internal self-performance engineering capabilities;. . Oversee and manage vendor relationships, ensuring quality deliverables, timelines, and project budgets are consistently met;. . Guide and supervise engineering activities, ensuring fiber engineering designs meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations;. . Implement best practices for project management, quality assurance, and design accuracy within fiber optic network deployments;. . Utilize expert judgment and comprehensive industry knowledge to resolve complex engineering challenges efficiently and effectively.. . . Minimum of 7 years of progressive telecommunications engineering experience, specifically focused on fiber optic network design;. . At least 3 years in engineering management or supervisory roles, demonstrating successful team-building and leadership;. . Proven proficiency with industry-standard tools, including IQGeo, ARAMIS, ArcGIS, QGIS, and AutoCAD;. . Solid understanding of fiber optic network construction methodologies, including aerial, buried, underground, and associated permitting requirements;. . Strong grasp of telecom industry standards, regulatory compliance, and engineering best practices including a full grasp of NESC compliance;. . Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and client demands;. . Advanced knowledge of OSP concepts, network architecture diversity, and permitting and compliance standards and codes;. . Flexibility for minimal travel (<10%) to support project initiatives and client interactions.. . Company Location: United States.
