Our team works four days/week (36 hours), which means you get a three-day weekend every week. 🎉. Job details. You will be the sole designer on our team. You will interface with Clearstream's founders, directors, and engineers as you work on our web and mobile apps. . You will maintain our web app and mobile app designs, continually pushing them forward as we implement new features and functionality. You should care about design aesthetics, user experience, consistency, and quality. Additionally, you will develop a deep knowledge of our product, our integration partners, the Church and non-profit technology space, and what our customers need. We also strive to continually improve our product, and you will help iterate and improve existing features, designs, and functionality. This includes wireframing, designing in Figma, and ideation.. Salary and schedule. . 4-day work weeks year-round. Times are flexible, but our team works 36 hours per week.. . Work happens in Slack, Linear, and Figma. Very few meetings.. . We need someone who is both creative and logical. Highly intelligent with good instincts. You should be able to design a beautiful form, but also know what form fields should be there in the first place.. You should be familiar with modern web and mobile apps, especially B2B. Think Linear, Typeform, Intercom, Slack, OpenPhone, Notion, etc. Products with modern interfaces that solve real problems in a simple and intuitive way.. You should develop a solid understanding of our product very quickly. Within a couple of months, you should know our product well enough to handle most wireframing, in conjunction with other people on the team, as new features are planned. In other words, you won’t simply be handed wireframes, but will be responsible for figuring out complex UI/UX problems yourself.. Things we're looking for:. . . An eye for high-quality design and UX.. You have good design instincts. Designs are useful, practical, and thought-out, not just pretty. You understand the nuances of font sizes, letter spacing, transitions, transparency, dark mode color schemes, etc. This is not a job where someone else will wireframe and you will simply turn that into pretty pixels. You must know how to design an intuitive, logical, organized user experience. There is consistency, organization, and you sweat the details. . . . . Deep knowledge of our product.. Very quickly, you should be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of what our product is, who our customers are, and what problems we are solving for them. You should either have experience working on a B2B product or be able to demonstrate this ability quickly. You must deeply understand the product you are working on.. . . . Highly capable in Figma.. You should understand components, variables, and other key concepts, as well as how to effectively organize a Figma file. You should be able to work efficiently in Figma. You will manage the Figma file, but it should be approachable for novice users for better collaboration.. . . . Familiar with web development process.. You should know all about transitions, element states, etc. We utilize Vue 3, Tailwind, and TypeScript, drawing inspiration from UI libraries such as Untitled UI, ShadCN/UI, and Tailwind UI. Our frontend engineers will be able to implement your designs effectively, but they shouldn't have to request empty states, hover states, edge cases, etc. You should design those things preemptively, knowing they will be needed.. . . . Self-motivated, self-starter.. You should be able to work mostly autonomously with minimal oversight. Your work does not require extensive review, and you take ownership of your work from beginning to end. You can identify UI issues without needing someone to point them out.. . . . Comfortable with both web and mobile design.. You’ll be responsible for keeping designs consistent between our web application, mobile applications, and general company branding.. . . .
