We are seeking a talented and proactive DevOps Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize cloud-native infrastructure that ensures high availability and performance for our platform. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams to build reliable deployment pipelines, observability frameworks, and secure, scalable systems. You will lead the implementation of best practices for infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and automation, while continuously improving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AWS services, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and performance optimization. This is a fully remote role with core hours in the Eastern Time Zone, offering the chance to work on innovative solutions that directly impact platform reliability and user experience.. . Accountabilities. . Design, build, and manage AWS infrastructure to support scalable backend services, leveraging Terraform for production-grade IaC workflows.. . Develop and maintain observability systems to monitor user journeys, APIs, databases, and cloud resources, implementing actionable alerts and SLOs.. . Partner with engineering teams to create deployment templates, CI/CD workflows, and automated processes that improve operational efficiency.. . Build event-driven services with robust retry policies, autoscaling, and cost/performance guardrails.. . Optimize API performance, database interactions, and infrastructure bottlenecks to enhance user experience.. . Participate in incident response, postmortem analysis, and proactive prevention activities, including lightweight on-call rotation.. . Document infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational procedures to ensure clarity and reproducibility.. . . 4+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining AWS infrastructure with Terraform.. . Strong knowledge of AWS services including Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, API Gateway, AppSync, RDS Aurora, and S3.. . Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and automation workflows.. . Proficient in Python, TypeScript, Node.js, or similar backend technologies.. . Experience in observability, monitoring, and performance alerting for complex cloud systems.. . Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, and mobile-focused backend systems.. . Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.. . AWS certifications (Developer or Solutions Architect) and Linux experience are preferred.. .
