You will design, build, and optimize APIs that power web, mobile, and in-store experiences, working closely with internal teams and third-party partners. This position allows for ownership over critical parts of the codebase, ensuring high-quality solutions for both internal and external users. Remote flexibility is offered, with the expectation to coordinate in real-time with the US Eastern Time team.. . Accountabilities. In this role, you will:. . Integrate internal APIs with frontend applications and external APIs to provide seamless functionality.. . Expand and enhance REST API capabilities using OpenAPI specifications.. . Develop new backend features to improve the customer-facing product suite.. . Optimize API performance and reduce latency through SQL tuning, caching, background tasks, and monitoring tools.. . Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs reported by end users.. . Refactor legacy code to modern standards and improve code maintainability.. . Expand automated test coverage to ensure application stability and reliability.. . The ideal candidate will have:. . 5–10 years of professional experience as a Python Developer, preferably with Flask (Django experience considered).. . Strong SQL skills and experience working directly with databases without an ORM.. . Experience in consumer-facing applications with high-performance requirements.. . Knowledge of integrating external APIs for payments, CRM, loyalty, or marketing applications.. . Hands-on experience with Celery, Redis, Docker, Linux, and AWS is a plus.. .
