Position Summary. The Manager of IT will serve as both an individual contributor and a leader responsible for supporting multiple locations, modernizing our IT environment, and establishing best practices. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, vendor management skills, and the ability to design and implement training programs, particularly around security awareness, as we transition from a less secure to a more robust, protected environment.. In this role, the Manager oversees and controls the entire lifecycle of changes to IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring they are implemented safely and with minimal disruption to business operations. This role focuses on implementing beneficial changes while mitigating risks and maximizing IT service availability. . This position offers a clear growth path into a Director-level role as the IT function expands.. Key Responsibilities. . Provide IT support for multiple sites across the organization, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.. . Lead initiatives to upgrade and secure IT infrastructure, including network security, endpoint protection, and cloud solutions.. . Develop and roll out company-wide training programs, with a focus on security awareness and compliance.. . Oversee and manage the IT change management process, including risk assessment, documentation, and communication of changes.. . Negotiate with vendors for hardware, software, and services (e.g., securing competitive deals on laptops and other equipment).. . Manage relationships with practice management system (PIMS) providers and ensure system optimization.. . Serve as a strategic partner to leadership in planning long-term IT initiatives that align with business goals.. . Oversee procurement, installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment.. . Document processes, create IT policies, and ensure adherence across all sites.. . Monitor and report on change management process efficiency and key metrics.. . Mentor and build an IT team as the department grows.. . Long-Term Vision for the Role. Proven experience in IT management, preferably in multi-site healthcare environments (veterinary preferred!). .
