The Opportunity. As Programme Manager, you will sit at the centre of AfriClimate AI’s operations, ensuring that technical innovation translates into measurable progress across.. Your core mandate is to ensure that:. Multi-country programmes are delivered on time and within scope.. Partnerships (NMS, academia, technology partners) are coordinated and actively engaged.. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) systems track impact rigorously.. Strategic communications strengthen donor confidence and public visibility.. Key Responsibilities. Programme & Portfolio Management. Develop and maintain consolidated programme workplans.. Track milestones, outputs, and reporting deadlines across projects.. Establish KPI dashboards and delivery tracking systems integrating with GitHub workflows.. Maintain risk registers and proactively manage bottlenecks.. Operationalise Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) frameworks aligned with international donor standards.. Partnership & Network Coordination. Coordinate engagement across National Meteorological Services, universities, and practitioners.. Support implementation of MoUs and partnership agreements.. Strengthen cross-country collaboration and knowledge exchange.. Support growth of AfriClimate AI’s Pan-African Community of Practice.. Organise webinars, technical workshops, and working groups.. Curate technical summaries and shared knowledge outputs.. Strategic Communications. Translate technical outputs into high-quality public content (policy briefs, blogs, impact summaries).. Lead social media positioning and thought leadership amplification. Lead preparation of annual reports and donor updates.. Support visibility at climate summits and international forums.. Draft narrative reports for international funders.. Support proposal development.. Essential Qualifications and Experience. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Data Science, Development Economics, Project Management, or related fields.. Experience: 3–5 years in programme or project management within donor-funded environments (e.g., IDRC, . Google.org. , EU).. Strategic Writing: Strong ability to synthesise complex technical content into clear, high-impact reports.. MEL Competence: Experience supporting or maintaining Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning frameworks and KPI tracking.. Stakeholder Coordination: Experience working with government institutions, National Met Services, or academia.. Financial Literacy: Ability to interpret programme budgets and align spending with outputs.. Digital Fluency: Proficiency in modern project management platforms (e.g., GitHub Projects, Notion).. English language proficiency.. Desirable Skills and Experience. Experience in Climate-Tech, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Agri-Tech, or development programmes in Africa.. French or Portuguese language proficiency.. Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Data Science, Development Economics, Project Management, or related field..
