Duties and Responsibilities:. •Develop, maintain, and enhance client/server business applications using PowerBuilder. •Provide technical support and issue resolution for internal users of business systems. •Analyze and troubleshoot application issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions. •Modify and optimize existing PowerBuilder code for performance, scalability, and maintainability. •Design and customize DataWindow objects to meet business reporting and data entry needs. •Collaborate with team members to gather requirements, test changes, and implement enhancements. •Work with SQL Server to develop and optimize queries, stored procedures, and database objects. •Participate in application deployments, environment setup, and version control management. •Document application changes, fixes, and procedures to ensure maintainability. •Stay updated on best practices and tools to improve development efficiency and application performance. •Proactively identify opportunities to improve system usability and user experience. Must-have Skills / Qualification:. •Minimum 5 years of experience as a PowerBuilder Developer. •Advanced proficiency with PowerBuilder versions 5 and up. •Strong expertise in SQL, preferably MS SQL, but other database experience can be considered. •Deep understanding of PowerScript/PFC and event-driven programming within the PowerBuilder IDE. •Extensive experience with DataWindow objects, including creation, customization, expressions, and complex data manipulation. •Skilled in building and maintaining client/server business applications. •Familiar with PowerBuilder debugging tools and techniques for performance tuning within the application layer. •Capable of analyzing, maintaining, and refactoring legacy PowerBuilder codebases. •Knowledge of PowerBuilder deployment, packaging, and environment configuration. •Experience working in multi-developer environments using source control (e.g., Git, TFS). •Proficient in writing complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers. •Solid experience with query optimization and performance tuning, including execution plan analysis and index strategies. •Strong understanding of transaction management, data consistency, and error handling. •Skilled in database schema design, normalization, and data migration techniques. •Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and related tools for monitoring and maintenance. •Comfortable working with large datasets and optimizing batch operations or reporting queries. •Self-motivated and takes initiative without waiting for direction. •Takes ownership and pride in delivering high-quality work. •Proactive problem-solver who identifies issues before they escalate. •Eager to learn and continuously improve skills and knowledge. •Strong work ethic with a “finish what you start” mindset. •Detail-oriented and committed to producing clean, maintainable code. •Driven to make an impact and contribute meaningfully to the team. •Positive attitude and open to feedback and collaboration. •Willing to go the extra mile to meet project goals or help teammates. •Comfortable working in a lean IT setup with limited structure or QA resources.
