Junior Accountant. to join one of our clients, a national platform working at the intersection of public transparency, technology, and investigative media. The company is scaling fast, and this role is crucial to clearing transaction backlogs, strengthening accounting processes, and supporting audit readiness across entities and systems.. This is a tactical, high-impact role for someone early in their accounting career who’s comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting things done.. Accountability. As a Junior Accountant, your success will be defined by your ability to manage transactional accuracy, ensure timely reconciliations, and contribute to smoother month-end closes. You’ll take on the detailed work of financial hygiene, clearing entries, applying payments, and updating trackers with precision and consistency.. Transaction Cleanup & System Migration. . Reconcile and clear historical journal entries from prior systems.. . Apply open credits and payments to outstanding invoices across multiple platforms.. . Assist in migrating remaining accounting data from QuickBooks to a unified ERP (NetSuite/Oracle). . . Cash Application & Reconciliation. . Manually post payments in Bill.com and NetSuite/Oracle.. . Update and maintain Stripe and PayPal payment trackers.. . Match online transactions to bank activity and verify posting accuracy.. . Coordinate closely with bank data and accounting systems to ensure alignment.. . Accounts Receivable & Invoicing Support. . Send follow-up emails for overdue invoices across subscriptions and ad placements.. . Support reconciliation of large-scale invoice datasets, with follow-up tracking.. . Respond to support tickets related to invoice issues and payment clarifications.. . Recurring Accounting Tasks. . Contribute to month-end close: journal entries, reconciliations, and report preparation.. . Process batch entries from subsidiaries in QuickBooks.. . Work with sales and operations teams to validate invoice and payment data.. . Vendor & Audit Assistance. . Complete vendor forms and onboarding documentation as required.. . Support audit preparation by compiling data and assisting with documentation.. . Collaborate with senior accountants to respond to audit and financial inquiries.. . Colleagues. Your key stakeholders will be your client’s internal finance and accounting teams, with direct reporting to the Director of Accounting & Finance. You’ll also collaborate with internal teams like sales and operations to ensure invoice and transaction accuracy.. Accuracy and diligence in tracking, posting, and verifying transactions. . . Self-Starter Mindset: . Ability to work independently with proactive problem-solving. . . Communication:. Comfort writing emails and documenting financial follow-ups clearly. .
