As a Telecommunications Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced telecommunications networks that support both voice and data services. This role involves working with legacy and next-generation technologies, including VoIP, TDM, and SIP-based systems, to ensure reliable and high-performing network infrastructure. You will provide engineering solutions, analyze alternatives, and support modernization initiatives for medium and large-scale networks. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness of communication systems for government and public safety agencies, and you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical and strategic objectives.. Accountabilities. In this role, you will:. ·         Translate business requirements into telecommunications network designs and technical solutions.. ·         Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices such as gateways, routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.. ·         Design supporting cabling and wiring infrastructure for voice, data, video, and wireless communications in construction projects.. ·         Provide engineering analysis for alternative solutions to enhance public safety and telecommunications systems, including 9-1-1 infrastructures.. ·         Develop recommendations and supporting metrics to guide network modernization initiatives.. ·         Deliver program management support, including presentations to national, state, and local officials.. The ideal candidate will bring:. ·         Minimum of 5 years of experience with IT and telecommunications systems, including legacy switching and next-generation technologies.. ·         Hands-on experience with gateways, routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, network servers, multiplexers, calling card platforms, TDM, Dialogic, and VoIP systems (SIP, H.323, dial peers, VoIP carrier trunking).. ·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in network design and implementation.. ·         Knowledge of cabling and infrastructure design for voice, data, video, and wireless systems.. ·         Excellent communication and presentation skills to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.. ·         Ability to provide program management support for medium to large-scale telecommunications projects..
