
Senior DBA at Riverside Insights. As a Senior DBA, you will guide our engineering practices to create a sustainable, high-quality enterprise platform. Collaborating with a team of engineers, you will focus on product-oriented engineering that enhances user satisfaction and drives business value. In your role as a leader within the engineering department, you will be responsible for group assessments and for designing and maintaining the infrastructure for software services on our Data Manager platform. Additionally, you will own building engineering and infrastructure tooling, automation, and observability – while expanding the platform to support the company’s vision of a multi-assessment platform that provides comprehensive insights for learners.. In this role you will get to:. . Own the health and oversight of multiple database technologies, including PostgreSQL, Dynamo, SQL Server, and Oracle, and their schemas and performance, across the department.. . Own the strategy of migration efforts for SQL Server and Oracle instances to utilize managed database instances with RDS.. . Own the strategy of ensuring that database schema changes do not require downtime or maintenance windows.. . Work with engineering and product leaders to analyze, estimate, adjust, and implement infrastructure and engineering tooling.. . Coach and mentor engineers across the department.. . Mastery and ownership of legacy hosted and modern cloud-native managed database systems, including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle.. . Experience using schema management (such as Liquibase, Sequelize, or Flyway) and code reviews to proactively guide schema and query best practices and performance tuning.. . Experience using infrastructure automation (such as Terraform) to manage database resources, streams, and pipelines with AWS.. . Strong time management skills, with an ability to manage priorities and balance across multiple tasks and activities.. .
