This role drives the strategy, development, and execution of product categories throughout the entire lifecycle, from ideation to market launch. The Category Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams including design, sales, marketing, and R&D to ensure that product initiatives align with organizational goals and customer needs. This position analyzes market trends, defines category vision, and supports retail partnerships to deliver innovative and commercially successful products. Accountabilities. The Category Manager will be responsible for:. . Implementing and executing product development strategies by analyzing sales data, market trends, and customer insights.. . Defining product design direction and coordinating execution with product and industrial design teams.. . Supporting sales with customer-exclusive items for key retailers within priority product categories.. . Collaborating with graphic designers and marketing teams on packaging, catalogs, and other promotional assets.. . Coordinating with overseas R&D teams for product samples, prototypes, and testing.. . Developing and maintaining sales tools that effectively communicate product benefits to retail buyers.. . Managing the licensing approval process for new and existing products in assigned categories.. . Conducting market research, including consumer studies, surveys, and focus groups, to inform product decisions.. . Tracking project status, maintaining documentation, and performing administrative tasks such as sample purchasing, shipping, and expense reporting.. . . Candidates should have:. . Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business or design field.. . Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development; 5 years preferred.. . Direct experience in consumer goods product development and working with licensors.. . Experience collaborating with international manufacturing operations, especially overseas.. . Excellent written and verbal communication skills.. . Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, monitor, and resolve issues across multiple projects concurrently.. . Exceptional attention to detail and a strong eye for design and trends.. . Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint at intermediate to advanced levels.. .
