
Energy Analyst at Ember. Ember is seeking a strong all-rounder to join our energy strategy team, Ember Futures, producing research on the global energy transition. You’ll act as a research assistant—supporting analysis of macro energy trends and the impact of electrotech on the evolving energy landscape—while also helping to organize team workflows, support the launch of major outputs, and turn insights into compelling slide decks and strategic briefings for senior stakeholders.. Key responsibilities. . Lead end-to-end data analyses to inform Ember Futures’ research agenda and help shape strategic priorities. . . Develop clear, impactful visualizations and slide decks for reports, presentations, and interactive tools, in collaboration with Ember’s award-winning Visual Storytelling team. . . Help organize the unit’s workflow and planning, contributing to smooth coordination across research, publication, and outreach. . . Shape and refine research questions, perform quantitative analysis, and contribute to writing outputs. . . Support the launch and external communication of our work in collaboration with Ember’s Communications team—including preparing briefings and pitch materials for key stakeholders. . . Identify and acquire new data sources to broaden and deepen our understanding of future energy trends. . . Contribute to overall strategy by proposing innovative analytic approaches and research directions. . . Join Ember Futures members to present work to senior audiences in government, finance, or other C-suite. . . Work with the Ember Data team to share our team’s datasets and collaborate on sourcing and integrating new data across Ember. . Secondary responsibilities. . Build or enhance models to explore scenarios for renewable generation, electrification, storage, and flexibility. . . Extend Ember’s data coverage into emerging areas such as transport, buildings, and industry electrification. . . Design and carry out original analysis to influence policy and market stakeholders. . . Represent Ember Futures at conferences, workshops, and stakeholder meetings. . Must have. . 1–2 years of relevant experience in energy . . Deep experience building state-of-the-art slide decks using PowerPoint or equivalent visualization software. . Strong data analysis experience in excel. . Proven ability to think creatively and solve complex problems. . Solid understanding of energy systems and the energy transition. . Excellent communication skills, with fluency in spoken and written English. . Ability to work independently and as part of a small, enthusiastic team. . Nice to have. . Strategy consulting or finance experience a major plus . . Experience in energy modeling or scenario analysis. . Data analysis experience in Python, R or other. . Insight into the economics or physics of energy systems. . Familiarity with energy markets and regulatory frameworks in multiple regions, especially ASEAN or China. . Fluency in an additional language relevant to Ember Futures’ focus regions, especially Mandarin . . Experience with other data visualization tools such as Flourish. .
