United States. .. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead cloud security initiatives for a major DoD-aligned application migration effort. The Cloud Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure AWS environments while integrating Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions and Zero Trust principles. The position focuses on achieving and sustaining Authority to Operate (ATO) at the Secret level, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards. The ideal candidate combines deep cloud security expertise with hands-on DevSecOps experience, strong knowledge of ICAM integration, and the ability to provide technical guidance across teams. This role directly impacts modernization, operational readiness, and secure system delivery in mission-critical environments.. . Accountabilities. As Cloud Security Engineer, you will:. . Design and implement secure AWS cloud environments aligned with DoD SRG and FedRAMP High baselines.. . Lead Zero Trust adoption, including micro-segmentation, least privilege access, and continuous authentication.. . Integrate ICAM solutions, ensuring compliance with DoD identity services and enterprise requirements.. . Apply DoD STIGs, NIST 800-53 controls, and AWS security best practices to cloud environments.. . Embed security into DevSecOps pipelines, including automated compliance, vulnerability scanning, and continuous monitoring.. . Support RMF activities, preparing and maintaining security documentation to achieve and sustain ATO.. . Provide advisory guidance on cloud security policies, modernization strategies, and Zero Trust implementation.. . Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated across all system lifecycle phases.. . . Candidates should have:. . US Citizenship and IT-II security clearance (Secret clearance preferred).. . Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field.. . 8+ years of IT security engineering experience, with at least 3+ years focused on cloud security (AWS preferred).. . Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty.. . Expertise in AWS/Cloud security services and Zero Trust architecture principles.. . Strong experience with ICAM integration and enterprise identity management.. . Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, STIGs, RMF/ATO process, and NIST 800-53.. . Experience embedding security into DevSecOps pipelines, automated compliance, and SIEM integration.. . Experience working with LLMs is a plus.. . Preferred qualifications:. . Experience supporting DoD cloud migration or modernization projects.. . Background in hybrid or multi-cloud security environments.. . Prior experience preparing and defending ATO packages for cloud-based systems.. . Knowledge of data protection solutions (DLP, tokenization, encryption management) in defense environments.. .
