We're looking for a mission-driven Program Lead, CNIB NB who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.. Your Impact at CNIB. . Deliver CNIB’s Adjustment to Vision Loss 8-week program on a rolling basis as well as an on-going peer support group and any other groups required in the region.. . Train, engage and actively manage an integrated team of volunteers who will be accountable for supporting peer support programs to people who are blind or partially-sighted. . Develop and implement CNIB’s Vision Mentor program, including recruiting, training, and engaging volunteer mentors who can be connected with individuals with sight loss 1-1. . . Connect individuals with sight loss with the relevant community supports. . . Conduct calls with clients to raise awareness of CNIB Programs and update the CNIB Database.. . Conduct data entry to track client participation, while also registering clients and updating their contact and demographic information.. . Through consultations, training sessions and hands-on demonstrations introduce and teach people with sight loss how to use assistive technology, apps and innovative products designed to enhance independence. . . Recruit, train, engage and actively manage a team of volunteer Tech Mates and SmartLife Assistant Coaches.. . Who you are:. Education and Certifications. Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Communications, Technology, Accessibility, Education, Recreation, etc.) or equivalent experience.. Experience and Qualifications. . Experience in creating impactful and engaging programs with a participant focus, ideally related to peer support, emotional support, volunteers, and/or technology.. . Experience in 1:1 support and group facilitation. . Excellent interpersonal skills when communicating with a diverse audience; you must be passionate about working with seniors!. . The ability to meaningfully engage volunteers, ensuring they have the resources, training, and motivation they need to be successful. . . The skills to distill information and present it during engaging and informative presentations and training workshops.. . A demonstrated understanding and track record of championing diversity and accessibility issues. . . Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.. . Proven time management, planning, coordinating and organization skills; proactive in initiating multiple projects on an ongoing basis.. . Professional attitude, results-oriented, strategic and flexible.. . Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint as well as virtual platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.. . Knowledge of adaptive technology or a passion to learn.. . Knowledge and experience working in a not-for-profit or charity.. . Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.. . Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.. . Work Environment . . Willingness to work flexible hours (including evenings as needed).. . Moderate travel is required. A valid driver’s license can be helpful, but not having one due to sight loss will not be a disadvantage.. . A hybrid work arrangement, with remote work as the primary setup and regular in-office days. This balance may shift if CNIB NB secures additional office space.. . Company Location: Canada.
