As Compliance Manager, you’ll be involved in monitoring adherence to the legal, contractual, health, safety, environmental and quality compliance across our landfill and gas portfolio. The post holder will compile reports, monitor targets, undertake targeted audits and support operations with training and management systems. Regular travel across the country is required.. Your core responsibilities.. . Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, procedures and guidance notes, including DSEAR, COSHH, waste acceptance and Animal By-products Regulations. . . Ensure compliance with all stages of waste acceptance procedures (both internal and external) including hazardous waste, qualifying fines and water discounts.. . Audit our compliance to make sure all of this is in line with HMRC regulations. . . Manage and support both internal and external audits, identify gaps, ensure actions are tracked, and maintain reports under the EQHS Management System. . . Track and report on KPI’s including contract compliance and associated reporting. . . Provide support and training for operational teams. . . Maintain Biffa’s EHS and ISO standards on site, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 compliance. . . Ensure COSHH assessments and risk assessments are maintained, reviewed and updated. . . Support incident investigations using the Top Set methodology, delivering clear reports and improvement recommendations. . . Liaise with the Biffa HSQ team for expert guidance and support the Senior Business Manager in meeting contract requirements.. . Our essential requirements.. . Relevant business qualification and formal safety certifications (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH in Environmental Management and Occupational Safety & Health) . . Experience in compliance, environment, quality, health and safety within public or private sector . . Strong leadership, planning, and workload management experience . . Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems, with ability to analyse data, produce reports, and create presentations . .
