Al-Murunah+ builds on the core Al-Murunah project by integrating Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) with household resilience-building approaches to promote positive gender norms across pilot sites in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPTs).. The project aims to advance positive gender norms and strengthen household resilience through weekly sessions that enhance household planning, budgeting, decision-making, and the ability to withstand shocks. These sessions are complemented by targeted economic interventions designed to improve women’s access to financial resources, while simultaneously strengthening their voice and leadership opportunities through engagement with community leaders.. Effective communication and knowledge translation are central to Al-Murunah+, supporting visibility, uptake of Nature-Based Solutions, and strategic engagement with policymakers, donors, communities, and private sector actors. To strengthen in-country communications and outreach, IWMI seeks to recruit a Jordan-based Communications Consultant.. The objective of this assignment is to support the design and delivery of Al-Murunah+ (AM+) communications on social change, outreach, and knowledge products, in alignment with the regional communications strategy and donor branding requirements, while contributing to cross-country messaging, visibility, and stakeholder engagement.. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:. A. Social Change Communication Strategy & Planning within Resilient Nature-Based Water Solutions (RNBWS). Review IWMI communications briefs related to Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), the MENA region, and Phenomenal Portfolios.. Ensure alignment with IWMI communication standards, donor branding guidelines, and project-wide messaging.. Review quarterly reports of the Al-Murunah+ project.. Develop a comprehensive communications strategy and operational workplan to communicate AM+ social change outcomes within RNBWS, including a communication and visibility plan that considers emerging trends and new engagement platforms.. Develop clear and user-friendly communication guidelines for partners, including key messages, taglines, hashtags, and branding requirements, and deliver an orientation session for partners.. Prepare monthly work plans and reports documenting communication outputs, reach, and engagement.. B. Content Development & Storytelling. Develop high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content, including success stories, human-interest stories, field updates, blog posts, factsheets, short videos, podcasts, and infographics.. Document RNBWS pilot activities, farmer experiences, partner perspectives, and policy influence moments across Al-Murunah+ pilot areas.. Support the preparation of media kits, press releases, speeches, talking points, and social media content packs.. Attend weekly Al-Murunah+ meetings to identify, capture, and document stories of change.. C. Media & Outreach (Social Change-Focused, Based on Events Calendar). Maintain and expand a national media contact database covering print, television, radio, and digital platforms.. Facilitate media field visits, interviews, and coverage of key project milestones.. Draft, coordinate, and support the publication of media outputs in both Arabic and English.. D. Events & Stakeholder Engagement. Organize an online seminar that integrates social norms transformation and Nature-Based Solutions.. Develop concept notes for end-of-year workshops (planned for May and September).. Provide communications support for workshops, policy dialogues, training events, and field demonstrations.. Lead branding and visibility arrangements, including banners, backdrops, plaques, certificates, and related materials.. Develop high-quality presentation content and audiovisual materials.. Support donor visits, official delegations, and advocacy meetings.. E. Knowledge Management, Monitoring & Reporting. Coordinate with the regional communications team to ensure timely inputs for quarterly, annual, and donor reports.. Upload, catalogue, and organize communication products within project repositories.. Track, analyze, and report on communication performance metrics, including media reach, audience engagement, and social media analytics.. DELIVERABLES:. 01. Summarizes outputs, outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations.. Timeline: . End of contract. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:. Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).. Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in development communications, preferably in the water, climate, or agriculture sectors.. Proven experience working on donor-funded projects (e.g., FCDO, USAID, GIZ, EU).. Demonstrated experience in producing multimedia content, including photography, short videos, and field-based stories.. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:. Excellent writing and storytelling skills in Arabic and English.. Established relationships with Jordanian media outlets and/or policy communications networks.. Willingness and ability to travel to field sites (e.g., Jordan Valley, Mafraq, Karak, and other project locations)..
