This role offers the chance to shape and optimize the core infrastructure of a rapidly scaling, remote-first organization. The People Operations Manager will lead benefits administration, compliance, systems management, and reporting, while driving process improvements and automation across the People function. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, IT, and Talent, to deliver seamless employee experiences across multiple states. The position combines operational excellence with strategic thinking, allowing you to influence workforce efficiency, support remote teams, and ensure compliance at scale. Oversee U.S. benefits and leave programs (health & wellness, 401(k), HSA/FSA/DCA, LOA) in partnership with vendors and manage escalations.. . Manage People Ops platforms and partner relationships, ensuring accurate execution and process adherence.. . Maintain SOPs, handbooks, and audit-ready documentation for compliance across 30+ states.. . Support open enrollment, ACA filings, and other compliance requirements.. . Coordinate immigration workflows with internal and external stakeholders.. . Administer and optimize People Ops systems, including Notion, SharePoint, and HRIS tools.. . Identify opportunities to automate processes, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency.. . Deliver recurring and ad hoc workforce reports, dashboards, and analytics to inform leadership decisions.. . Respond to employee inquiries via multiple communication channels and ensure smooth HR service delivery.. . . Minimum of 5 years of People Ops experience, including at least 1 year managing benefits in startups or scaling organizations.. . Experience in a remote-first company environment without a PEO.. . Strong knowledge of multi-state U.S. employment compliance (EEO-1, FLSA, and other HR regulations).. . Highly tech-savvy with experience configuring HR systems, automating workflows, and integrating platforms.. . Advanced skills in Google Sheets/Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, dashboards, data integrity).. . Experience with systems such as Rippling, Tilt, Sequoia, Notion, or ability to learn quickly.. . Proven project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain documentation hygiene.. . Excellent written communication, organization, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.. .
