Senior Full Stack Developer w/a Sense of Humor at Shinesty. At Shinesty, our mission is to force the world to take itself less seriously. We make people laugh first and sell second. Our mothers don’t always approve of what we do—but the millions of customers we’ve entertained (and dressed) over the years definitely do.. We’re an irreverent DTC brand selling comfort-focused everyday essentials, and we’re also a tech-forward org with a real-world ecommerce stack: Shopify Plus, subscription, search, analytics, and a handful of custom/internal tools.. Right now, we’re rebuilding our site with an agency and moving from our current headless setup to a Shopify theme-based site. We need someone who can operate in both worlds—keep the current headless site stable and improving in the short term, provide technical input so the rebuild is implemented correctly (without turning this into your full-time meeting calendar), and then help us build and evolve Shopify theme experiences post-migration.. If you’re the type of developer who’s down to figure stuff out, can ship practical improvements fast, and doesn’t need perfect specs to make progress—keep reading.. The Role. This is a hands-on, senior full-stack role focused on keeping revenue-critical web experiences healthy while we transition platforms.. You’ll work very closely with our Digital Product Manager to ensure our technical roadmap aligns with business goals, maintain the integrity of our ecommerce funnel, and bridge the gap between technical execution and product vision. You’ll spend time across frontend, backend, integrations, performance, and analytics integrity—and you’ll be the steady hand that keeps us shipping high-quality code while we navigate this transition.. What You’ll Do. 1) Keep the current headless site stable and improving (next ~3–4 months). Own day-to-day stability: triage issues, fix bugs, ship improvements, and keep releases moving. Improve performance and reliability across funnel pages (Collection → PDP → Cart → Checkout). Support business-critical updates (launches, promos, pricing changes) without breaking conversion. Execute a mix of quick wins and targeted refactors to reduce fragility and regressions. Maintain analytics and tracking integrity so marketing, attribution, and testing don’t get corrupted. Operate with a clear constraint: we’re not looking for a big rewrite right now—we’re migrating, so we need pragmatic improvements that keep the business running. 2) Provide technical input during the agency rebuild (collaborative, not meeting-heavy). This role is not expected to project manage the rebuild.. Instead, you’ll provide focused technical partnership to keep the rebuild accurate, maintainable, and launch-ready:. Provide technical guidance early (constraints, feasibility, integration requirements, edge cases). Review key deliverables that benefit from engineering eyes (technical specs, implementation approach, critical PRs). Join the working sessions where engineering input is genuinely needed (not every status meeting). Answer agency questions quickly and clearly so they don’t guess—or build the wrong thing. 3) Post-migration: Shopify theme execution + experimentation. Once we’re on a Shopify theme-based site, you’ll help us build and evolve a faster iteration engine:. Work within Shopify theme constraints intelligently (speed, maintainability, extensibility). Build and iterate on features that support an ever-evolving ecommerce business. Enable experimentation: implement tests, iterate quickly, and ship improvements that move conversion and AOV. Maintain and extend apps/integrations cleanly (no duct-taping the stack). Build lightweight documentation and internal runbooks so we can own what we ship. Core Responsibilities. Frontend Development. Build and maintain React/Next.js experiences across the ecommerce funnel. Improve UX in ways that directly impact conversion, AOV, and subscription attach. Ensure performance and accessibility standards are met (Core Web Vitals matter). Backend / Platform Development. Build and maintain APIs, serverless functions, and integration logic (TypeScript-heavy). Debug issues across services: Shopify, internal tools, and third-party partners. Improve observability: logging, monitoring, error reporting, and alerting where needed. API Integration & Ecommerce Tooling. Integrate Shinesty systems with third-party tools (subscription, search, analytics, marketing partners). Ensure reliable data flow and maintainable implementation patterns. Performance + Conversion Rate Optimization. Identify and resolve bottlenecks across frontend and backend systems. Implement smart, well-scoped A/B tests and iterate based on results. Partner with the Digital Product Manager to translate hypotheses into shippable changes. Must Have. 5+ years professional JavaScript experience (TypeScript strongly preferred). 3+ years React and/or Next.js experience. Strong experience building/consuming REST APIs (GraphQL a plus). Ecommerce experience (Shopify strongly preferred). Strong debugging skills across frontend + backend. Excellent written and spoken English communication. Comfortable working in ambiguity and moving fast without perfect specs. Nice to Have. Shopify theme development experience (Liquid, theme architecture, Shopify best practices). Serverless experience (AWS Lambda or equivalent). Analytics and tracking implementation experience (GA4/GTM, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, event taxonomy discipline). Experience partnering with agencies (PR review, launch readiness, acceptance criteria). Experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf) used responsibly. Company Location: Colombia.
