We are currently looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer in San Diego, California.. We are seeking a seasoned Staff Software Development Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, cloud-based applications. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver APIs, websites, and backend systems that process and manage complex data flows. You will help define architecture and technical standards, ensuring high-quality solutions while mentoring and influencing other engineers. Your work will directly impact customer experience and operational efficiency, driving innovation across distributed systems. You will participate in requirement gathering, code reviews, testing, and problem resolution, while guiding teams in best practices for modern software development. Lead the design, architecture, and development of cloud-based applications, APIs, and websites.. Collaborate with product managers, technical support, and occasionally customers to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.. Define development approaches that accommodate changing requirements and evolving business needs.. Influence technical architecture and evangelize platform capabilities across teams.. Apply best practices for software development, testing, deployment, and quality management in an Agile environment.. Support product assurance by diagnosing and resolving application bugs and issues.. Participate in on-call rotation for application support and incident resolution.. Mentor and guide team members, fostering knowledge sharing and adherence to best practices.. . Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, or related field).. 8–12 years of related experience (Master’s) or equivalent; PhD with 2–4 years of industry experience considered.. Strong experience developing full-stack applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.. Expertise in programming languages including Kotlin, Java, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, Scala, or similar.. Experience building distributed systems and integrating message brokers.. Proficiency with NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB) and/or RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).. Familiarity with modern authentication and SSO frameworks (OAuth 2.0, OpenID, SAML).. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerized components, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitHub Actions.. Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7v2) and EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) is a plus.. Strong problem-solving skills, collaboration, time management, and communication abilities.. Experience working in Agile teams and distributed development environments.. .
