We are seeking a Staff Platform Security Engineer to lead security initiatives across cloud infrastructure, networking, and critical environments in a remote-first, high-growth fintech setting. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable security solutions while balancing business agility and risk management. You will collaborate across multiple engineering teams and organizational functions to ensure compliance, hardening, and monitoring of platforms and services. The ideal candidate has deep experience in cloud security, vulnerability management, and infrastructure protection, and will serve as a trusted advisor for security practices across the organization. You will contribute to the development of secure systems, advocate for best practices, and help build tooling that supports engineering teams at scale. This role offers the opportunity to influence security posture at a strategic and operational level.. . Accountabilities. Drive platform, infrastructure, and network security initiatives, focusing on hardening, segmentation, and secure access controls.. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to advocate for security practices and implement features that align with organizational goals.. Design, configure, and deploy cloud security services including IAM, detective controls, infrastructure protection, and data security.. Specify, standardize, and validate access controls across cloud environments, integrating security tooling into existing systems.. Develop security software configurations, improve tool functionality, and implement controls across databases and storage systems.. Decompose large security projects into actionable tasks, manage scope, and drive projects to completion.. . Bachelor’s degree in a related field (MS preferred) or equivalent practical experience.. Proven experience tackling complex, ambiguous security challenges and delivering scalable solutions.. Strong background across multiple domains: infrastructure operations, networking, storage, corporate IT, and cloud security.. Hands-on experience deploying infrastructure in Kubernetes environments and developing cloud services using Terraform.. Proficient with auditing methods, access management in AWS cloud services, and security tooling such as Wiz, Auditbeat, Crowdstrike Falcon EDR, and AWS Systems Manager.. Ability to balance security risk with business needs and make technical trade-offs effectively..
