Senior Engineer, Cryptography at Anza. The Role. We’re looking for a Senior Engineer, Cryptography to help shape the cryptographic foundations of our protocol and infrastructure. You’ll work across multiple domains—designing secure primitives, implementing performant cryptographic systems, and collaborating with protocol, infrastructure, and research teams. This role is ideal for a generalist excited about applying cryptographic theory to real-world, high-performance blockchain systems—especially at the intersection of time, consensus, networking, proofs, and adversarial security.. Responsibilities. . Design, implement, and optimize cryptographic systems and primitives across Anza’s validator client, consensus protocols, networking protocols, and developer tooling.. . Analyze existing protocol mechanisms for security risks and cryptographic soundness.. . Integrate cryptographic components into systems ranging from consensus to key management and validator operations.. . Conduct and participate in security reviews, audits, and threat modeling.. . Contribute to performance tuning and benchmarking of crypto-related components.. . Collaborate closely with engineers and researchers on protocol evolution and technical design.. . Publish research work to top conferences. . What You’ll Bring:. . 5+ years of experience working with cryptographic systems in production settings.. . Proficiency with modern cryptographic algorithms: hash functions, digital signatures, key exchange, threshold/multi-signature schemes. . . Strong programming skills in Rust, C++, or similar systems languages.. . Understanding of distributed systems and adversarial threat models.. . Ability to reason rigorously about cryptographic correctness and protocol-level security.. . Practical experience with the design and analysis of cryptographic network protocols (e.g., TLS, QUIC, Noise).. . Nice-to-Have:. . Experience with blockchain architectures or consensus protocols.. . Knowledge of Solana’s cryptographic foundations.. . Familiarity with secure multiparty computation, zero-knowledge proofs, or post quantum cryptography.. . Contributions to open-source crypto libraries or research publications.. . . Company Location: United States.
