We are currently looking for a Principal Agentic AI Chatbot Engineer in the United States.. This role offers the opportunity to lead the development of enterprise-scale AI agents and conversational bots that solve complex business problems across R&D, manufacturing, and commercial operations. You will design and deploy agentic systems with high reliability, security, and observability, while mentoring teams and setting technical standards. The position requires deep expertise in AI/ML, multi-agent orchestration, tool-use planning, and structured reasoning, as well as experience with safety, privacy, and compliance frameworks. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure systems are scalable, cost-efficient, and aligned with organizational goals. Accountabilities. · Own the architecture, orchestration, and deployment of enterprise agent and chatbot platforms (cloud/on-prem), including API contracts and multi-tenant guardrails.. · Design and implement production-grade agentic systems, multi-agent planning, workflow orchestration, and structured outputs.. · Build high-containment bots for web, mobile, Slack, Teams, and IVR with low-latency streaming responses.. · Implement retrieval and memory solutions (RAG, vector stores, knowledge graphs) with data contracts, lineage, and lifecycle governance.. · Establish CI/CD pipelines for bots, including prompt/config versioning, conversation tests, feature flags, progressive delivery, and automated rollbacks.. · Develop observability solutions for tracing, metrics, and analytics (containment, escalation, hallucination, latency, cost per turn) with alerts and runbooks.. · Integrate securely with enterprise systems (SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, MES/LIMS/ELN/QMS) while ensuring least-privilege access.. · Embed safety, privacy, and compliance in line with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, and PII requirements.. · Optimize inference, GPU/accelerator usage, and costs, making architecture trade-offs and guiding FinOps strategies.. · Mentor teams, translate domain requirements into prioritized roadmaps, and communicate technical trade-offs to stakeholders.. . · Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s, Associate’s degree, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT, or related field.. · 2–12 years of professional experience in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related fields depending on degree level.. · 3–5 years of experience in AI/ML and enterprise software systems.. · Expertise in knowledge graphs, structured reasoning, multi-agent planning, and retrieval systems.. · Familiarity with safety tooling, privacy-preserving patterns, and automated red-teaming.. · Experience integrating AI systems within regulated domains (e.g., biopharma, clinical operations, manufacturing).. · Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.. · Contributions to open source projects, patents, or publications in AI/agentic systems are a plus.. · Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills.. · Ability to work effectively in global, virtual teams and manage multiple priorities.. · Optional but desirable: Agile/SAFe experience, GenAI/ML platform certifications, biotechnology/pharma industry familiarity..
