3D DFX Supervisor at One Of Us. The 3D DFX Supervisor is responsible for supervising CG output across departments including layout, modeling, FX, lighting, and environment. They ensure that CG elements are technically solid, artistically aligned, and delivered in a way that supports upstream dependencies and departments.. Duties:. . CG Supervision: Oversee 3D department output across shots, sequences, or entire shows. Ensure 3D output is visually strong, technically compliant, and production-ready.. . Lookdev: Support visual direction across lighting, FX, and environment development.. . Tech Checks: Review renders for AOV structure, naming, camera data, and asset handoff.. . Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with comp, animation, and pipeline to ensure smooth data flow. Maintain cross-discipline clarity on data requirements and workflow expectations.. . Problem Solving: Identify and resolve blockers within shot delivery or upstream data. Act as the primary technical point of contact for all 3D-related issues.. . Scheduling Support: Work with production to manage delivery expectations and artist resourcing.. . Mentorship: Guide leads and senior artists across FX, lighting, and environments.Foster a supportive, productive, and communicative team culture. . . Delivery Review: Approve deliverables before handoff to compositing or other relevant upstream departments.. . Skills, attributes and experience:. . Strong Houdini experience (lighting, FX, or environments) and render pipeline understanding.. . Excellent visual judgement across lighting, composition, and CG realism.. . Deep understanding of render passes, caching, and scene structure.. . Confident in leading teams, balancing creative and technical need.. . Familiarity with Arnold, Karma, and multi-render workflows.. . Experience with shot continuity and asset/scene management.. . Effective communicator between departments and production.. . 10+ years in VFX or a related field.. . Excellent communicator, sharing information clearly and actively listening.. . Strong time management, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and escalate delays in a timely manner.. . Adaptable to change with the ability to stay focused and maintain a positive attitude.. .
